The Education Funding and Commissioning function is introducing a new NHS Education Contract, which will replace current Learning and Development Agreements (LDAs).
The introduction of the NHS Education Contract will provide a consistent framework to govern the quality, financial and transactional relationship between HEE and placement, service and education providers. Whereas the current LDA is between HEE and NHS Trusts, the new NHS Education Contract will be used between HEE and any provider of educational services regardless of their status or setting, and will include a Tri-Partite Agreement, initially for use between HEE, Medical Schools and providers.
A task and finish group was established in June and meets bi-weekly to deliver the new contract, with representation from regional and national colleagues across a range of functions. Engagement with system partners to ensure the new contract is fit for purpose will start in August. The project will deliver a new contract at the end of September 2020 for implementation with partners by 1 April 2021.
